We have just finished our first month of formation sessions, and
we’re off to a great start! Our sessions on Mondays and
Tuesdays are nearly full. This year, we have added some new
groups. We have a group of children with special learning needs
and a group of older children who are both preparing for their
First Eucharist. These two groups are meeting on Sunday
mornings, before or after our masses. They attend mass together
and are getting to know our parish community and how we
worship. We also have a group of seventh graders in their first
year of preparation for Confirmation who meet at 9am to discuss
scripture and social action and then attend the 10am Mass on
Sundays.
Let’s continue to support our children and our catechists with our
prayers and our actions. One way to help is to volunteer as a
hallway monitor or classroom aide, or as a substitute catechist
when needed. Anyone over age 18 who is willing to undergo the
diocesan background check and vetting process is eligible to join
our team. It’s a great way to give back to our parish and all those
who have helped grow your faith in the past, and a way to help
our parents and families raise up their children in the Faith
today. Please contact the Children’s Faith Formation Office for
more information.
