Parish Updates from Father Brian As many of you know, our Parish Secretary, Kathi Slattery has been undergoing chemotherapy over the past few months and awaits surgery soon. To focus on her health, Kathi will be going on disability effective October 1st. She has been uplifted by our parishioners’ prayers and good wishes. We will continue to pray for a speedy and complete recovery in the hopes of welcoming Kathi back sometime in the new year.
Ginny Hayden has agreed to stay on in the Parish Office for the foreseeable future. Her hours are Monday through Thursday from 9am to 1pm. The Parish staff will assume several of Kathi’s duties as Parish Secretary.
Starting on the weekend of October 5th/6th, Holy Communion will be offered under the Body of Christ and the Blood of Christ. The Communion Cup has not been given since the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic in March 2020. Receiving the fullness of Holy Communion is a welcomed gesture as we move away from the global pandemic that adversely affected more than 609 million people worldwide.
Over the summer, two construction projects occurred in our Narthex and Conference Room. Both areas required much-needed improvement. I am grateful for the extra effort Charlie Colline and Mark DiOrio put into these two projects. Thank you to Gilbert and Susan Mazin for donating the beautiful picture of the Blessed Mother.
Next weekend we are having our Parish Fall Fest! Parish families gathering on an autumn Sunday to celebrate our Church’s community is a welcomed event and a wonderful thing to see! The day will be great for parishioners to enjoy excellent food and the activities for all ages. In addition, we are having various Parish ministries in attendance for you to meet with and become more involved in our Parish’s life.
