Msgr Prus Mayoral Proclamation

WHEREAS, Msgr. Eugene J. Prus is officially celebrating the 60th anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood; and

WHEREAS, he served as pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church for 28 years retiring in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Msgr. Prus was able to find new energy in returning to the church to serve as Administrator of Blessed Sacrament Parish; and

WHEREAS, he has enjoyed many highlights throughout his priestly career including involvement in the formation of the Dioceses of Metuchen in 1981; and

WHEREAS, he was instrumental in organizing interfaith meetings among members of all Faiths in the community to further religious dialogue; and

WHEREAS, he considers himself “a parish priest, through and through”; and

WHEREAS, he has remained a resident of Bridgewater since retiring and has continued his priestly ministry in Bridgewater and the surrounding communities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Matthew Moench, Mayor of the Township of Bridgewater, do hereby deem it an honor and pleasure to extend this Proclamation honoring the service of Msgr. Eugene J. Prus, a true man of God, to his faith and to his community.
