Msgr. Prus 60th Ordination Anniversary

Blessed Sacrament Church is pleased to celebrate Msgr. Prus’ ordinaƟon to the priesthood 60 years ago at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Trenton, NJ. He started serving at BSC as Pastor in 1985. During his time as Pastor, our parish has grown from 500 families to approximately 1800. The church campus we know today—Church, Parish Hall, classrooms, kitchen, all purpose rooms, are due to his planning. His contributions extend beyond bricks and mortar. Many of our parish organizations have flourished under his leadership (Youth Group, CCW, ARS, KoC, Music Ministry). In addition, he servied the Diocese of Metuchen as Director of Administration, Commission for the Continuing Education of Priests, and Board of Trustees of Catholic Charities, to name a few. Msgr. Prus is also the Chaplain for the Bridgewater Police Dept and the Martinsville Fire Dep.

We have all benefitted from a decision that Msgr. Gene Prus made back in 8th grade to become a Catholic Priest. He has served the Diocese, the community, and Blessed Sacrament parish with love, dedication, and distinction.
